In the Happy Van’s Algarve Food Tour of Portimão, you have the opportunity to taste a significant part of the rich cuisine of this city, the Algarve, and Portugal.
Visit 3 to 4 local restaurants/taverns, authentic Houses of Regional Flavors, where every detail, from the decoration to the menu, tells a story of tradition. Sample 7 different tapas accompanied by fine Portuguese wines. The journey concludes with a tasting of a famous regional sweet, paired with a regional digestive, or an artisanal ice cream.
The tour lasts approximately 3 hours, and you can choose between the morning/afternoon or afternoon/evening option. Explore the riverside and historic center of the city, walking through its ancient streets, admiring the architecture of its palatial buildings as well as the more common ones, street commerce, squares, monuments, and gardens. In addition to gastronomy, our guides will ensure you learn more about the people of Portimão, their culture, traditions, and way of life.

It was very informative and great fun. Our tour guide Paulo and his wife made this experience very personalised and warm. We visited truly unique places and tried a variety of Portuguese dishes whilst Paulo helped us to understand the tradition and history which evolves around the Portuguese cuisine. Wine was one of the best we had! Highly recommended to anyone with a good taste for food and especially those visiting Algarve for the first time.

The food selection was excellent and our guide was good fun and very friendly. It’s a great way to see and taste things you wouldn’t normally look for as a tourist. We also opted for the transport pick up in the vintage VW van which was good fun! Would recommend
